January 13th, 2005 The varsity
wrestling team started Mid State League action last night with duals against
Teays Valley and Amanda Clearcreek at Amanda. In the first match the
Braves lost 52 to 27 to Teays Valley. Logan Elm forfeited the 103
pound class, at 112 Dustin Gatwood lost by pin in 5:47, 119 Daniel Davis
pinned Jordan in 2:43, Daniel Gifford pinned Sherman in 1:33. At 130 Lee
Thorpe lost in 2:14, 135 Thomas Bohrer pinned Morris in 1:24, 140 Jeff Evans
was pinned by Lambert in 3:00, 145 Seth Grate defeated Mood 7-0. At 152 Bo
Hinson lost 13-3 to Ramey, at 160 Brock Sells lost to Rice by pin in 3:40,
Dustin Dexter at 171 pinned Stockham in 1:59. In the 189 pound class
Cody Smith lost to McHugh by pin in 5:09, Dustin Azbell lost to Thurston by
pin in 3:21 in the 215 pound class. Logan Elm forfeited the 275 pound
class to Cyrus.
The Braves defeated Amanda Clearcreek 46-31. Again the Braves forfeited at
103. At 112 Dustin Gatwood pinned Markowski in 2:32, Daniel Davis won
by forfeit at 119, Daniel Gifford defeated Covell 14-3. Lee Thorpe at 130,
Thomas Bohrer at 135, and Jeff Evans at 140 all won by forfeit. At 145
Seth Grate lost 15-13 in overtime against Boso in what can only be described
as one of the best matches of the night. Bo Hinson pinned Thompson in :52 at
152 pounds. At 160 Brock Sells lost by pin in :59, Dustin Dexter lost 13-2
to Ball at 171 pounds. At 189 Cody Smith was pinned by Wehrle in 1:31.
In another tremendously exciting match Dustin Azbell pinned Parsons in 5:23
in the 215 pound class. Logan Elm again forfeited the 275 pound class.
The Braves wrestle against Circleville and Canal Winchester next Thursday at
Circleville.
One other point of interest- Daniel Davis was recently received an
appointment to attend the Air force Academy in Colorado Springs.

The varsity wrestling team defeated
Westfall Thursday night 57 - 15. Earning wins for Logan Elm were Thomas
Bohrer, Jeff Evans, Seth Grate, Bo Hinson, Josh Kempton, Dustin Dexter, Cody
Smith, Justion Duehren, Dustin Gatwood, Daniel Davis, and Daniel Gifford.
In JV action Michael Vollman, and Devin Haddox each won their matches; the
only two of the night.
Logan Dogwatch Invitational
December 11th, 2004
The varsity wrestling team finished second
in the Logan Dogwatch Invitational Tournament last weekend. Individual
placers were Champions Daniel Davis at 119, Daniel Gifford at 125, and
Dustin Azbell at 215. Cody Smith places second at 189. Finishing
third were Dustin Gatwood at 112, Dustin Dexter at 171, and Justin Duehren
at Heavyweight. Devin Tatman places fourt in the 135 pound class.
Lee Thorpe at 130, Bo Hinson at 152, and Josh Kemption at 160 all finished
5th. Jeff Evans was seventh at 145 pounds. Wrestling very well
but losing out on a tie breaker was Thomas Bohrer at 140 pounds. Kiwanis Invitational
December 4th, 2004
The Varsity Wrestling Team finished first at the Circleville Kiwanis
Invitational Tournament on Saturday. This was the second year in a row
that the Braves won the tournament. Individual weight class champions
were Daniel Davis at 119 pounds and Daniel Gifford at 130 pounds.
Placing second were Dustin Gatwood at 112, Devin Tatman at 135, Bo Hinson at
152, and Dustin Azbell at 215 pounds. Other placers were Lee Thorpe
4th at 125, Jeff Evans 4th at 140, Seth Grate 3rd at 145, Josh Kempton 4th
at 160, Dustin Dexter 3rd at 171, Cody Smith 4th at 189, and Justin Duehren
