Led
by juniors Katie Hupp and Andrea Anderson with 12 points each, Logan Elm
beat visiting Hamilton Township 55-41 Tuesday evening.
"We came out strong there in the first quarter and the kids did a nice
job," LE coach Donna Peters said. "Something that really sparked us was
Mallory Rittinger scoring two points on a drive from the wing.
"It's good for her to have that capability."
Anderson, who finished the game with seven assists, seven boards and
five steals, scored four points in the first with Hupp also tallying
four.
Five Lady Braves scored in the second quarter as Logan Elm (6-10, 4-6
MSL) put some distance between Hamilton Township in a 19-12 period.
LE held off the Rangers at the end, converting 13 of 17 free throws in
the fourth quarter.
"We made 13 free throws, which is something we haven't seen for a
while," Peters said.
Hupp added six rebounds while Lacey Eliott had eight points and Lyenya
Riddle seven points.
"The kids were spreading the ball around and it was nice to see them
gel well tonight and get everyone into the flow of the offense," Peters
said.
Logan Elm travels to Bloom-Carroll Saturday. |
