RUSHVILLE - Logan Elm was able to trim a Fairfield Union that at one
time numbered 17 down to seven points, but the depth and press of the
Falcons was too much for LE in a 66-51 road loss Friday.
"The kids played hard and we had a few more step up in the scoring
column, " LE coach Donna Peters said. "Lyenya (Riddle) and Lacey
(Elliott) each had nine and then Katie Hupp had eight and Amanda
McDaniel seven.
"We had several kids getting close to that double-digit scoring
number."
The Lady Braves (3-8, 2-4 MSL) were led by Andrea Anderson with 13
points.
Logan Elm managed to sink 17 of 24 free throws for the game. The lack
of free throw shots finding the bottom of the net has been a concern of
Peters for the majority of the season.
"They were pretty relaxed at the line and you look down through the
scoring tonight, and the normal girls we would have shooting 33 percent
shot anywhere from 100 down to 50 percent," Peters said. "If we can keep
this type of percentage up, that would be great. Hopefully this is
something that will give our kids a boost of confidence at the line."
Logan Elm returns to the hardwood Tuesday at home against Amanda-Clearcreek. |
