The
Lady Braves converted 10 of 12 free throws in the fourth quarter to take
a 48-43 win over visiting Canal Winchester Tuesday evening.
"At the beginning of the year we struggled at the free throw line, and
became a little too lax and couldn't finish in the fourth quarter," LE
coach Donna Peters said. "Now we're becoming more consistent and getting
things done down the stretch."
Mallory Rittinger, Lacey Elliott and Alex Welch each contributed four
points in a a fourth quarter where LE outscored Canal Winchester 18-12.
Andrea Anderson led the Braves (8-10, 6-6) with 15 points on the
evening with Rittinger adding eight and Katie Hupp seven.
"This was a good win for us," Peters said. "All of the kids did a nice
job defensively. We've always been plagued by turnovers, but they are
beginning to learn to play with that."
Peters hopes the Braves can continue their three-game winning streak
when they welcome in Mid-State League co-leader Fairfield Union Saturday
night. |
