AMANDA - Almost
everyone got in the scoring act for Logan Elm. Literally.
Nine Logan Elm players dented the scorebook with five of those players
in double-figures as the Braves routed Amanda-Clearcreek 81-45 Tuesday
evening.
“We got a lot of contributions from everyone tonight,” LE coach Doug
Stiverson said. “Bryant Blake started for us and had a good game,
especially on the offense side. Ryan Hoffman is starting to get healthy
and back into basketball shape, and he did an excellent job being active
on the boards and getting a lot of putbacks.”
The Braves (11-2,
5-2 MSL) rebounded from a 60-55 loss to Fairfield Union last Friday,
taking a 37-16 halftime lead over the Aces (2-10, 0-7 MSL).
“It was important
for our kids to come out and play hard and together,” Stiverson said.
“They did an excellent job playing together and getting a lot of
transition baskets, either off one of their makes or misses.”
“The
guys also did a nice job of limiting them to one shot on most of their
possessions.”
Logan Elm shot 36
for 73 in the game and were led by senior Kyle Reichelderfer, who
deposited 20 points. Bryant Blake followed with a career-high 16 and
Ryan Hoffman followed with his own best offensive performance with 12
points.
The Braves rolled in the third quarter, outscoring the Aces 30-14 in
the period as Evan Blake had nine, Bryant Blake eight and Reichelderfer
seven.
“Evan, Kyle and
Bryant really had big third quarters for us, and pushed the ball a lot
in transition to make some shots,” Stiverson said.
Amanda-Clearcreek
was led by Clint Evans with eight points with Josh Mathes and Aaron
Cordle adding six a piece.
Logan Elm travels
to Circleville Saturday for a showdown in the Mill Street Gym while
Amanda-Clearcreek hits the road to Bloom-Carroll.
“Its always
exciting when Logan Elm and Circleville hook up,” Stiverson said. “And
with the league rounding out like it is, this game will be important.”
“Anyone can beat anyone on any given night right now.”
