The Braves improved their unblemished record to 9-0 on Monday with a 5-0 non-league win over visiting Logan.

“Kelly Speirs played some of her best tennis of the year at first singles, and Katie Willard, a freshman, stepped into third singles for the first time this year and had a strong showing,” LE coach Tony Clouse said.

Speirs won 3-6, 6-4 and 6-4 at first singles, Kari Willard pitched a 6-0 and 6-0 shutout and Katie Willard also won 6-0 and 6-0 at third singles.
The Logan Elm first doubles team of Lydia Linton and Brittany Pontious took a 6-0 and 6-0 win, and teammates Demi Martin and Shae Manson won 6-2 and 6-0 at second doubles.

Logan Elm returns to Mid-State League Buckeye Division competition on Thursday with a home match against Canal Winchester.

Logan Elm 2,

Harvest Prep 1

Austin Davis scored the game winner with four minutes left to lift host Logan Elm past Harvest Prep 2-1 on Monday for the Braves’ first win in over six years.

“Our guys have been putting a lot of work in and it’s nice to see it pay off for them,” LE coach Nate Dropsey said.

The Braves battled back from a 1-0 halftime deficit as Alex Foreman scored the first goal for Logan Elm.

Henry Laux had six saves for the Braves.

“Our defense was pretty good,” Dropsey said. “We limited how many shots (Harvest Prep) could get and communicated well.”
