Alyvia Clark, Alicia Nichols, Heather Evans, Emily Robinson 

The Logan Elm High School athletic department is proud to recognize Heather Evans, Emily Robinson, Alyvia Clark, and Alicia Nichols for their accomplishments earned during the 2007-2008 basketball season.  Heather, a sophomore post player received numerous awards including All Ohio Special Mention, AP Southeast All District first team, District 14 second team, Mid State League first team and 1st Team All County.  Freshman point guard Emily received All Ohio Honorable Mention, AP Southeast All District second team, District 14 Honorable Mention, Mid State League second team, and 1st Team All County.  Alyvia a sophomore guard honors included AP Southeast All District third team, District 14 second team, Mid State league second team, and 2nd Team All County.  Senior post Alicia received Honorable Mention in the Mid State League.  The girl’s basketball team coached by Donna Peters finished second in the Mid State League with an 11-3 record and finished the season with an overall record of 15-6. 

Logan Elm High School is proud to announce the 2007-2008 wrestlers who received special honors from the league and district.  Junior Ben Baker who wrestled at 285 pounds received Honorable Mention in the Mid State League.  Receiving Mid State League Honorable Mention and All District fifth team honors were junior Brad Wolford who wrestled at 160 pounds.  Senior State Qualifier Thomas Bohrer received first team honors in the Mid State League and third team All District honors.  Shane Gifford a junior who qualified for State was honored with Mid State league first team honors and All District third team honors while wrestling at 145 pounds.  Wrestling at 130 pounds was senior Dustin Gatwood who received Mid State League Honorable Mention.

The Athletic Department is honored to announce special awards received by members of the 2007-2008 boys basketball team.  Bryant Blake, a senior guard/forward received District 14 Honorable Mention, Mid State League Honorable Mention, and 2nd Team All County.  Sophomore point guard Adam Blake received AP Southeast All District Honorable Mention, District 14 second team, Mid State league first team, and 2nd Team All County.  Steven Largent a senior center was awarded AP Southeast All District third team, Mid State League second team honors, and County Player of the Year.  Standout junior point guard Tim Congrove received 3rd Team All State, 1st team AP Southeast All District, District 14 first team, Mid State League first team honors, and 1st Team All County.  Coached by Doug Stiverson, the boy’s basketball team finished second in the league with a 12-2 record and earned District Runner Up honors as they finished the season with an overall record of 18-5.

Senior Emily Eickholt and junior Shane Gifford were recently presented plaques from the Columbus Dispatch.  The Dispatch honors two students from central Ohio for their outstanding athletic accomplishments.  Emily received her Dispatch athlete of the week award for her performance in cross country and Shane was honored for his wrestling accomplishments.
