Why we are selling advertising
With the rising cost of technology and the need to stay up to date with this technology, the staff of LoganElm.net has decided to create a separate web site to feature the student athletes of Logan Elm High School.  

Specific Needs:

·         High resolution digital camera suitable for capturing fast action sports in low light settings.  Accessories for this digital camera.  Estimated cost: $1200-$2500

·         Multimedia Computer(s) suitable for running graphic software and digital video editing.  Estimated cost per computer: $1500

·         Software updates and additional site licenses.  Estimated cost: $500+

Purpose
LoganElmSports.net and LoganElm.net is a student run publication for all students, faculty/staff, alumni and the community of Logan Elm High School.  It serves as an educational tool in the training of web design and online journalism in a real world setting.

Content
Students work under the guidance of a faculty member, the content is ultimately determined by the student staff.  The students and advisor are responsible for all content.  We aim to balance the coverage with the help of club advisors, coaches, and other faculty and staff.

Opinions expresses in the editorials and columns are those of LoganElm.net and LoganElmSports.net staff.  Opinions express online are not necessarily those of Logan Elm High School or the Logan Elm School District, faculty, staff, or administration.

Advertising
Businesses are encouraged to advertise on LoganElmSports.net when there ads adhere to specific guidelines.  The policy is available upon request and is available to read in room 29 of Logan Elm High School.

Site Statistics
The Logan Elm Website is used frequently by Students, Parents, Community Members, and people seeking to relocate to our area.  The website is linked to the Pickaway County Chamber of Commerce website. 

Below you will find our server side stats.  These stats represent the number of visitors to our site.  We average over 3.5 million hits per year.

Hits represent the number of requests made to the server during the given time period

Visits occur when some remote site makes a request for a page for the first time.  Only pages will trigger a visit, remote sites that link to graphic and non-page URLs will not be counted in the visit totals, reducing the number of false hits.

Advertising Guidelines

1.       LoganElmSports.net does not publish advertising for tobacco, alcohol, or illegal substances, nor does it publish ads that run against school policies, see Logan Elm Board of Education’s policy, “Advertising in the Schools”, File KJ.

2.       LoganElmSports.net does not accept blind ads under any circumstances.

3.       All letters, columns, stories, photos, and art become legal property of LoganElmSports.net at the time they are submitted.

4.       LoganElmSports.net does not publish paid political advertising for on campus elections, including school board and student running for student government.

5.       No advertising will be accepted that is libelous, irresponsible, advocates an illegal activity, or which the LoganElmSports.net staff deems in poor taste.  Acceptance of advertising does not constitute an endorsement by the school, the staff as a whole, or its individual members.
